Bergen grappling guest starring in Amsterdam.

I’m going to write this in English in case someone from the Amsterdam club stops by to read it. I could write it in Norwegian and have them use google translate – but then again, you can’t ever trust google translate completely. It might end up translating «I had a great training» to «I had a poop training», and then where would we be? After all, one translation program once made «public authorities» into «reindeer authorities». You can’t trust google translate!

But that’s not the topic in this post. Today, I travelled with the tram all alone, managed to get off at the right station and follow some rather vague instructions to Rickson and Kron Gracie Jiu Jitsu Amsterdam. This in itself is quite a deed for me since I have been known to get lost walking from the bathroom to the living room. Anyways, I knew I was in the right street and I knew I was looking for number 44. And I found number 42 and number 46 – only there was no 44. However, between these two buildings I saw a bunch of guys carrying big gym bags – and I had a hunch that I was in the right place.

My hunch turned out to be quite right. And I got to join their Saturday traning session! It was so much fun, some great techniques and fun sparring. I’m currently working on improving my open guard, and that turned out to be some of what they were working on this session as well. And having spent the last couple of days mostly eating, eating and oh, yes, eating – a work out was just what I needed to get my energy back on track. Funny how eating a lot and stocking energy just makes me tired while using energy in training seems to boost me – shouldn’t that work the other way around? Anyway, thank you guys so much for having me! Hopefully I’ll be able to stop by next Saturday as well.
